How do you play Nut Sort: ASMR Puzzle?
Tap any non-empty bolt to lift its visible top run of same-colored nuts, then tap a bolt with room (four nuts at most) that is empty or has the same color on top. Every move counts, even one you take back with Undo. Clear the board within the level's move target for 3 stars; a few moves over still earns 2 stars, and using Add Bolt for a spare empty rod costs one star. Mystery nuts marked with a question mark show their color once they reach the top. The level is won when every bolt holds four nuts of one color.
Tips & strategy
- Keep at least one bolt completely empty as a buffer zone for complex transfers.
- Prioritize unmasking mystery nuts hidden with question marks early in the level.
- Focus on finishing one solid single-color bolt completely to clear board clutter.
- Plan a few moves ahead: Undo puts the nuts back, but the move still counts toward your stars.
- Save Add Bolt for a true dead end: the spare bolt costs one star, so try Undo first.

Nut Sort: ASMR Puzzle FAQ
How do you get 3 stars on a Nut Sort level?
Clear the board in no more moves than the level's target. The target is the shortest solution the solver found for that exact layout, and the header shows your moves next to the limit for the stars you are still on course for. Finishing up to a quarter over the target (at least 2 extra moves) earns 2 stars; more than that earns 1 star.
What are the rules for moving nuts between bolts?
You can only place nuts onto a target bolt if it has room (under four nuts) and either has no nuts at all or its uppermost nut shares the exact same color as the ones being transferred. Nuts of differing colors cannot be stacked on top of one another.
How do mystery nuts with question marks work?
Mystery nuts appear in advanced chapters underneath higher nuts on a bolt. Their real color is concealed with a steel finish and question mark until you unscrew and transfer the nuts resting above them, revealing their true color and unlocking new sorting possibilities.
Are all generated puzzle levels guaranteed to be solvable?
Yes. Every single level in the 60-stage campaign has been pre-verified through a backtracking depth-first search solver before publication. You will never encounter an impossible starting deal, and every puzzle can be solved through thoughtful logic.
Do Undo and Add Bolt lower your star rating in Nut Sort?
Add Bolt does: the spare empty bolt takes one star off the result, so a clear within the move target earns 2 stars instead of 3, and it can be used once per level. Undo puts the board back one move, but the counter keeps the undone move, so a mistake still costs a move even after you take it back.
How is the realistic ASMR audio created?
All sound effects are synthetically produced in real time using the browser Web Audio API with zero external audio downloads. Resonant bandpass noise bursts create thread clicks, while inharmonic frequency partials simulate authentic metal bells and clangs.
