What is Prism Relay?
Prism Relay is a sliding tile puzzle game in your browser where you move glowing track tiles around a single gap until one channel runs from the start to the goal and passes every gold light fragment. Tiles slide but never turn, bolted tiles never move, and each of the 100 levels shows its proven fewest-moves target, from 1 slide on level 1 to 27 on level 100. There is no timer, and Undo, Hint and Restart are free, so a level fits a short break on a phone or a laptop.

How do you play Prism Relay?
Each board has one gap. Tap a tile that touches the gap, drag it in, or press an arrow key, and it slides into the gap; tiles never rotate. The cyan start and the violet goal are fixed. Rails joined to the start glow cyan and rails joined to the goal glow violet, so you can watch the channel grow from both ends. When one unbroken channel runs from start to goal over every gold light fragment, the pearl orb rolls along it and the level is done. Bolted tiles appear from level 41, 5×5 boards from level 61. There is no timer and no way to lose.
Tips & strategy
- Read the goal first: its opening shows the side the last tile must connect from, so you know where the channel has to arrive.
- Watch the Light pill: if it shows fewer fragments than the board holds, bend the channel to the missing gold prism first.
- Move the gap, not the tile: walk the gap next to the tile you need first. Every slide counts, so a short gap path saves moves.
- From level 41, bolted tiles are fixed waypoints: when one blocks the way, route the channel through its openings, not around.
- Chasing 3 prisms? Explore freely, then step back with Undo: every Undo lowers the move counter, so only your final route counts.
- Lost far from the answer? Restart, then press Hint: it lights the next slide and counts the slides left (max 2 prisms).

Prism Relay FAQ
Can you rotate the tiles in Prism Relay?
No. Tiles only slide, one cell at a time, into the gap beside them, and a curve always keeps the same two openings. To change the channel's direction you bring a different tile into place, so the cyan glow spreading from the start is the best guide to which piece belongs where.
Why doesn't the orb roll when my channel reaches the goal in Prism Relay?
Because a light fragment is still off the channel. A level is solved only when the channel from the start reaches the goal and passes over every gold prism on the board. The Light pill shows how many are on the channel, for example 1/2, and the status line says how many are missing; re-route through that tile and the orb rolls.
How do you earn 3 prisms on a level in Prism Relay?
Finish in the Target number of moves without pressing Hint. The Target is the fewest slides that can solve that board. You get 2 prisms within the Target plus half of it (at least 2 extra), or at the Target after a hint, and 1 prism otherwise. Undo lowers the counter, so only your final route counts.
Is the Target in Prism Relay really the fewest possible moves?
Yes. Every level was checked by a computer search that visits each reachable board in order of moves, so the Target is a proven minimum rather than an estimate: 1 slide on level 1 and 27 on level 100. Many boards have more than one shortest route, and any of them earns the 3 prisms.
What are bolted tiles in Prism Relay?
They are tiles with four bolts that appear from level 41. A bolted tile never slides and the gap cannot pass through it, so it splits the board into narrower lanes. Some bolted tiles hold part of the winning channel, which means the route must run through their openings; others only stand in the gap's way.
What does Hint do in Prism Relay, and does it cost anything?
Hint makes the next tile to slide glow, points an arrow toward the gap and tells you how many slides the shortest route needs from your current board. It is free and unlimited, but a level finished after a hint earns at most 2 prisms. If your board has drifted far from any known route, it may first suggest taking back your last slide.
What changes on the 5×5 boards in Prism Relay?
From level 61 the board has 25 cells instead of 16, so channels are longer and tiles travel farther before they fit. Levels 61 to 66 carry 2 light fragments and later ones 3, and bolted tiles return from level 71. Targets rise from 9 slides to 27 on the hardest boards.
How do the arrow keys work in Prism Relay?
An arrow key slides the tile on the far side of the gap in the arrow's direction: Left moves the tile to the right of the gap leftward into it. You can also press Tab to jump between the tiles that can move and Enter to slide one, while U undoes, H shows a hint, R restarts and L opens the level list.
