What is Shelf Atlas?
Shelf Atlas is a weight sorting puzzle game in your browser where you move items between shelves until every family sits on its own shelf. Items weigh 1 to 5◆ and each shelf carries only its limit, so heavy globes and compasses wait on a workbench of one or two places while you make room. With 100 levels from 3 to 20 moves, no timer, free Undo and an exact Hint, it suits calm puzzle breaks for kids and adults.

How do you play Shelf Atlas?
Tap an item to pick it up, then tap another shelf or the workbench; you can also drag it there. A move works only when the target has a free place and, on a shelf, the new total weight stays within the limit shown under it. The workbench has no weight limit but only one or two places. The level is done when every leaf, lantern, crystal, compass and globe sits on its own shelf and the workbench is empty. Your moves are compared with par, the shortest possible solution. Levels grow from 2 shelves with 4 items to 5 shelves with 20.
Tips & strategy
- Read the gauge before moving something heavy: a shelf with 3◆ to spare takes a crystal, but not a compass or a globe.
- A shelf's spare room is its limit minus the full weight of its own family, at most 2◆, so plan where each guest item can wait.
- Keep a workbench place free when you can: it is the only spot where a globe (5◆) can wait while its shelf is full.
- Undo is free and undone moves leave your count, so test an idea and step back instead of restarting the level.
- Stuck? Hint lights the next best move and says how many moves remain on the shortest way; it only costs the third star.

Shelf Atlas FAQ
What do the numbers in Shelf Atlas mean?
Each badge is an item's weight in ◆: leaves weigh 1, lanterns 2, crystals 3, compasses 4 and globes 5. The numbers under a shelf show its load and its limit, for example 5/6◆. An item can go onto that shelf only if the new total stays at or below the limit.
What is the workbench for in Shelf Atlas?
The workbench is a holding spot with 1 or 2 places and no weight limit. Park a heavy item there while you free up its shelf. It must be empty at the end: a level is complete only when every item is on its own shelf and nothing is left on the workbench.
Can a board in Shelf Atlas become impossible to sort?
No. Every move can be reversed by moving the same item back, so any board you reach can still be sorted. If a board feels hopeless, Undo steps back one move at a time for free, and Hint always shows a move that leads to a solution.
How is par counted for three stars in Shelf Atlas?
Sort the level in par moves or fewer without pressing Hint. Par is the exact shortest solution, found by searching every reachable board. Finishing a little over par (2 moves, or a quarter of par on long levels) gives two stars, and any finish gives one. Undone moves do not count.
Why does a shelf refuse an item in Shelf Atlas?
Either the shelf has no free place, or the item would push its total weight over the limit. While you hold an item, shelves that can take it glow and the others show Full or Too heavy, so you can see the reason before you tap.
Which items appear in later levels of Shelf Atlas?
Levels start with leaves and lanterns. Crystals join at level 11, shelves get four places from level 21, compasses arrive at level 31, and globes, the heaviest family at 5◆, appear at level 76 in the Star Dome. The last levels have 5 shelves and 20 items.
