What is Neon Pulse?
Neon Pulse is a 3D night highway racing game for the browser in which you weave through three lanes of traffic, drift through tight bends and burn nitro on the straights to reach the finish arch as fast as possible. Its 30 stages take about 30 to 80 seconds each and cross five districts, from glass towers to a harbor and a tunnelled industrial zone. A finish under par earns 2 stars, under the gold time 3. Crashes never end a run, they only cost speed, and Free Drive adds an endless highway that gets busier every kilometre.

How do you play Neon Pulse?
Steer between three lanes with ← → (A/D) or the on-screen ◀ ▶ pad; the car accelerates by itself (turn auto gas off to hold ↑) and ↓ brakes. Reach the finish arch as fast as you can, passing three checkpoints that compare your split with your best run. Hold Space or DRIFT while steering through a bend to keep grip and fill nitro, and hold Shift or NITRO on straights for extra speed. Traffic, cones and broken-down cars cost speed but never end the run; ramps, boost pads, near misses and speed gates add style points.
Tips & strategy
- Brake briefly before yellow chevron boards, or hold DRIFT through the bend: drifting carries about a quarter more speed.
- Take the inside lane of a bend: the inner edge is shorter, so hugging it saves time over a whole stage.
- Pass cars with about a metre to spare and chain near misses within 4 seconds to push the combo up to ×5.
- An amber indicator that blinks for 1.4 seconds means that car is about to move into the next lane: pass on the other side.
- Save some nitro for a speed gate and fire it in the last 150 m: from stage 8 most gates are faster than the starter car alone.

Neon Pulse FAQ
What do I need for 3 stars on a Neon Pulse stage?
Finish a stage at or under its gold time. Each stage card shows the gold time, and the result screen shows gold and par: par gives 2 stars, gold 3, and any finish gives 1 star and opens the next stage. Gold times allow a 7% margin over a clean proof run in the starter Pulse GT, so every star is possible without buying a faster car.
What does drifting do in Neon Pulse?
Holding DRIFT (Space) while steering through a bend above 50 km/h raises tyre grip by 60%, so the car keeps its line at speeds that would otherwise slide it into the barrier. A drift costs a little speed, fills nitro at 15 points per second and scores style points once it lasts 0.8 seconds; orange kerbs mark drift zones that pay double.
How long does the nitro tank last in Neon Pulse, and how does it refill?
A full tank lasts about 4 seconds. Hold NITRO (Shift) while the wheels are on the road: top speed rises by 28% and acceleration almost doubles. The tank starts each stage half full, refills slowly by itself and faster from drifts, near misses, landings, boost pads and speed gates. An empty tank has to refill to 8% before nitro fires again.
Does a crash end the run in Neon Pulse?
No, the run never ends. Hitting a car from behind drops your speed below the other car's, a side swipe costs a fifth of it, and your car blinks as a ghost for 1.1 seconds so it can drive through and recover. Each crash also resets the style combo, so a clean run is both faster and worth more credits at the finish.
How do speed gates work in Neon Pulse?
A blue arch shows a number in km/h. Pass under it at that speed or faster for 250 style points, multiplied by your combo, and 20 nitro; a slower pass scores nothing but does not slow you down. From stage 8 on most gates ask for more than the Pulse GT's 158 km/h top speed, so keep some nitro for the run-up.
How do I jump over the broken-down cars in Neon Pulse?
Line up with the yellow ramp in its lane and hit it fast: the ramp lifts the car 1.1 m and launches it, clearing stalled cars about 10 m past the ramp when you arrive above roughly 100 km/h. On stages 11, 17, 23, 29 and 30 some jams block every lane, so the ramp is the only way through. Landing refills 10 nitro and scores airtime points.
How is Free Drive different from the stages in Neon Pulse?
Free Drive is an endless highway with no finish line and no timer. The district changes every 2.4 km and traffic grows from 8 to 22 cars per kilometre, so the drive gets harder the further you go. When you end the drive from the pause menu you earn credits for distance and style points, and your longest distance is saved.
What do the Ember XR and Violet V8 cost in Neon Pulse?
Buy them in the garage with credits: Ember XR costs 2,400 and Violet V8 6,000. Every finished stage pays 60 credits plus 40 per star and one per 10 style points, and Free Drive pays for distance and style. Ember XR accelerates hardest and reaches 173 km/h; Violet V8 tops out at 191 km/h with the most grip.
