What is Twist Treehouse?
Twist Treehouse is a screw-sorting puzzle game in the browser where you tap bolts out of wooden planks and drop each one into an open box of its colour until the wall is bare. Two boxes of 3 bolts are open at a time; a bolt with no matching box waits on a 5-slot tray, and a plank left on one bolt swings down and can cover new bolts. All 30 levels ship with a proven winning order, and one tap per move suits short, calm play sessions.

How do you play Twist Treehouse?
Tap a bolt that no plank covers to twist it out. It flies into an open box of the same colour, or onto the tray if neither open box matches. Each box takes 3 bolts; a full box leaves, the next box in the queue opens and pulls its matching bolts off the tray. A plank held by one bolt swings until it hangs straight down from it, which can hide or free other bolts, and a plank with no bolts drops away. Clear every bolt to win; the level is lost when the tray is full. Four colours arrive at level 9, acorn caps at 17 and a 4-slot tray at 25.
Tips & strategy
- A bolt that drops straight into an open box is free; each bolt sent to the tray takes one of only 5 slots (4 in Storm Night).
- Before pulling a plank's second-to-last bolt, picture it hanging straight down from the other: that pose may cover your next bolt.
- When a plank lies over several bolts, pull its last bolt so it falls away; one tap can free three or four bolts.
- Check the box queue: if the next box matches bolts on the tray, filling the current box first clears those slots.
- From level 17, clear the planks over capped bolts early so the acorn caps pop off and you can plan with real colours.
- Stuck? Hint shows the first bolt of a winning order from your position; Undo takes back one bolt but costs the no-undo star.

Twist Treehouse FAQ
Why won't a bolt come out in Twist Treehouse?
A plank from a higher layer lies over its head. Covered bolts look dimmed, and tapping one makes the helper say a plank is in the way. Take out the bolts holding the plank on top; once it swings clear or falls, the bolt underneath can be twisted out.
What happens when a plank has one bolt left in Twist Treehouse?
It swings around that bolt until its middle hangs straight below it. In the new pose it can cover bolts that were free a moment ago or uncover others, so the order you pull a plank's bolts in matters. Pull the last bolt too and the plank drops off the wall.
What makes the tray fill up and end a Twist Treehouse level?
You lose when the tray is full: the fifth bolt that finds no open box of its colour ends the level, or the fourth in the Storm Night chapter (levels 25 to 30). The tray-full sheet lets you undo that last bolt and keep going, or start the level again.
What happens to bolts waiting on the tray in Twist Treehouse?
They jump into the next box of their colour as soon as it opens. When an open box gets its third bolt it leaves, the next box in the queue takes its place, and it pulls up to 3 matching bolts off the tray at once, freeing those slots.
What are the acorn caps in Twist Treehouse?
From level 17, in the Pine Lookout and Storm Night chapters, bolts under a plank wear an acorn cap that hides their colour. The cap pops off the moment the bolt becomes free and stays off, so clearing planks above capped bolts early shows which colours are still to come.
How does the tray goal decide the third star in Twist Treehouse?
Clear the wall without Undo and never hold more bolts on the tray than the level's goal, which the win sheet shows. Clearing earns one star, no undo a second, and the light tray a third. The goal ranges from 1 to 4 bolts and always matches a winning order the game ships with.
Can every Twist Treehouse level be won from any position?
No. Every level starts winnable, and tests replay a winning order for all 30, but a careless order can strand bolts so the tray must fill. Hint then says no winning move is left; use Undo or Start over. After a win, Watch a clean run replays the shipped order.
