What is Moonlit Curios?
Moonlit Curios is a Halloween shadow matching puzzle game in your browser where you drag trinkets from a basket onto their own silhouettes to refill Pip the owl’s curio shop. Over 5 chapters it adds look-alikes such as a big and a tiny pumpkin, mirrored shadows, decoys for the cauldron and a moon clock, and every wrong drop puts out one of 3 candles. A level takes about a minute, so it suits short, careful play.

How do you play Moonlit Curios?
Drag a trinket from the basket onto the shadow with exactly its shape, or tap the trinket and then the shadow. The basket shows up to 8 trinkets and refills from the pile. A drop on the wrong shadow puts out a candle; when all 3 are out, the level restarts. From chapter 2, look-alikes differ only in size or pose. In chapter 3, shadows can face the other way, so tap a picked trinket again to flip it. Chapter 4 adds decoys for the cauldron, and chapter 5 a moon clock.
Tips & strategy
- Before dragging a pumpkin, cat or potion, compare every shadow of that family: the tiny pumpkin is two thirds the jack-o’-lantern’s size.
- In Mirror Manor, see which way the cat’s tail or the broom’s bristles point in the shadow, and flip the trinket before dropping.
- No shadow with a trinket’s exact shape means it is a decoy: drop it in the cauldron at once to free one of the 6 basket spots.
- Save Ask Pip for a real tie between look-alikes: a hint costs a candle, the same as a wrong guess.
- On moon-clock levels, keep about 2 seconds per trinket: the clock allows roughly one and a half times that pace.

Moonlit Curios FAQ
What happens when all the candles go out in Moonlit Curios?
The level ends and the same case starts over, with the same shadows and the same basket order. Each wrong drop and each hint from Pip puts out one of the 3 candles, so a level is lost after three mistakes, or two mistakes and a hint. Trinkets already placed do not carry over to the retry.
How do I keep all 3 candles lit for 3 stars in Moonlit Curios?
Fill every shadow without putting out a single candle. Stars equal the candles still lit when the case is full: one mistake leaves 2 stars and two mistakes leave 1. Asking Pip also costs a candle, so a 3-star clear means no wrong drops and no hints. The level map adds up your best stars out of 90.
How do I flip a trinket in Moonlit Curios?
Tap a trinket you have already picked, press the Flip button, or press F on a keyboard. Flipping works from chapter 3, Mirror Manor, and only on trinkets that look different when mirrored, such as the cat, the broom or the witch boot. Flipping is free, but dropping a trinket that faces the wrong way costs a candle.
What is the cauldron for in Moonlit Curios?
From chapter 4, Potion Cellar, the basket mixes in 2 to 5 decoys per level: trinkets with no shadow in the case, often a cousin of one that is there, like a tall potion beside a round potion’s shadow. Drag them into the cauldron to free their basket spot. Binning a trinket that does have a shadow costs a candle.
How long is the moon clock in Moonlit Curios?
Only the 6 Midnight Tower levels, 25 to 30, have one: 70 seconds on level 25, up to 90 seconds for the 20-shadow finale. The clock stops while the game is paused, but keeps running while you drag. When the moon sets before the case is full, the level restarts.
Which trinkets are easiest to mix up in Moonlit Curios?
Look-alikes from the same family: the jack-o’-lantern, the tall pumpkin and the tiny pumpkin; the black cat and the smaller kitten; the bat and the swooping bat; three potion bottles; two crows, two candy jars and two gems. 18 of the 51 trinket families have look-alikes, and they start appearing in chapter 2, Bat Belfry.
Does Pip the owl place trinkets for me in Moonlit Curios?
No. Pip only lights up the right shadow, or the cauldron, for the trinket you picked, and you still drag it there yourself. Each hint costs a candle and Pip cannot help while just one candle is lit, so hints are best kept for a real tie between look-alikes.
