QUICK ANSWER

What is Noodle Knot?

Noodle Knot is an arrow puzzle game in your browser where you tap noodles with faces to slide them out of a bowl, one at a time, until the bowl is empty. A noodle leaves head first along its own bent body, but only if the straight line in front of its face is empty; a bump costs one of 3 hearts. Bowls grow from 4×4 to 9×11 cells over 30 levels and add fixed toppings and tied twin noodles, while holding a noodle shows its path for free, so careful players never have to guess.

How do you play Noodle Knot?

Empty the bowl by sending every noodle out. Tap any part of a noodle and it slides out head first, the way its face and little nose point, with its body following its own path. It can only go if every cell from its face to the rim is empty. If a noodle or topping is in the way, it bumps, slides back and you lose one of 3 hearts; with none left, the bowl starts over. Hold a noodle to peek: green dots mean clear, a red box marks the blocker. Topping Bar adds toppings that never move; Twin Knots ties pairs that leave together.

Tips & strategy

  1. Start with noodles whose face already touches the rim: nothing can stand in front of them, so they always leave.
  2. Not sure? Hold the noodle first. A red box marks the blocker, and peeking never costs a heart.
  3. Send long noodles out early. They free the most cells and often open the way for three or four others.
  4. Twin noodles need both lines clear. Check the partner at the other end of the nori band before you tap.
  5. A hint costs the same star as a bump but never a heart, so on your last heart a hint is the safer help.

Noodle Knot FAQ

Why does a noodle in Noodle Knot bump instead of leaving?

Something sits on the straight line in front of its face. A noodle leaves head first along its own body and then straight to the rim, so every cell from its face to the edge must be empty. The bump costs one of your 3 hearts, and the noodle or topping in the way wiggles to show what blocked it.

How do I see where a noodle will go in Noodle Knot?

Press and hold it for about a third of a second. Green dots run from its face to the rim when the way is clear; when it is blocked, the dots stop and a red box marks the blocker. Letting go moves nothing and costs no heart, and on a keyboard the V key does the same for the noodle under the cursor.

What happens when you run out of hearts in Noodle Knot?

That bowl is lost and an "Out of hearts" card offers Try again. The level restarts with every noodle back in place and 3 fresh hearts, while your stars and unlocked levels stay saved. Each bump costs exactly one heart, and hints never take any.

What do the toppings do in Noodle Knot?

Eggs, fish cakes and mushrooms arrive in the Topping Bar chapter, levels 11 to 20, and never leave the bowl. They block like a noodle that can never move, so the noodles around them must go in the right order. Every bowl is still built so it can be emptied without a single bump.

How do twin noodles work in Noodle Knot?

In Twin Knots, levels 21 to 30, two noodles tied with a dark nori band leave together on one tap. Both lines to the rim must be clear, but the twins never block each other, even when one points across the other. If either one is blocked, the pair bumps and costs a single heart.

How are stars counted in Noodle Knot?

You earn 3 stars for emptying a bowl with no bumps and no hints, 2 stars with exactly one bump or one hint, and 1 star otherwise. Your best result for each level is kept, so you can replay any of the 30 bowls later to fill in the stars you missed.

Can a bowl in Noodle Knot get stuck with no move left?

No. Sending a noodle out only ever frees cells, so a noodle that can leave stays able to leave, and every bowl is generated so it can be emptied completely. If you can't spot a free noodle, the Hint button lights up one that can go right now.
