QUICK ANSWER

What is Facet Fort?

Facet Fort is a maze-building tower defense game in your browser where every rock you place reveals a gem: you keep one in five as a tower and the other four wall in the path. Gems come in 6 families and 5 tiers, from a ground-only splashing Ruby to a Quartz that shoots only flyers, and the right three gems make one of 6 special towers. A campaign map is 20 waves with bosses on waves 10 and 20, and Survival on a 21×21 vault keeps going until your 10 lives run out.

How do you play Facet Fort?

Each round you drop 5 rocks on empty tiles. Every rock reveals a gem; you keep one as a tower and the other four become walls. Enemies walk the shortest path through the numbered checkpoints, so rocks that bend the path give your towers more time to shoot, and a rock that would close the path is refused. Flyers ignore the maze and follow the dashed line. Each enemy that reaches the fort costs 1 of your 10 lives. Gold from kills buys Luck for higher-tier gems, lucky charms, extra lives and upgrades for special towers.

Tips & strategy

  1. Keep your first gem right beside the path and make sure it hits the ground: Ruby cannot shoot flyers and Quartz shoots only flyers.
  2. Before every 4th wave (every 3rd on Sky Lanes), drop one rock next to the dashed flight line and keep a gem that hits flyers there.
  3. Two identical gems in one round combine one tier up, and four identical gems jump two tiers, so a round full of twins is worth combining.
  4. Spend early gold on Luck: level 1 costs 20 gold, and 4 rounds without a tier 3 gem guarantee one in the next round.
  5. Sigils need both gems in one round: a Rough Sapphire and a Chipped Topaz make the Anchor Sigil, which slows walkers by 30%.
  6. A boss at the fort ends the run. Before wave 10, aim for a special like Storm Eye, whose lightning jumps 6 to 8 enemies.

Facet Fort FAQ

How do I make a special tower in Facet Fort?

Collect the three exact gems of its recipe, with at least one of them drawn this round, then pick that gem and press Make. The other two may be gems you kept earlier; they turn into rocks. Storm Eye, for example, needs a Rough Topaz, a Chipped Sapphire and a Chipped Ruby.

Why do flyers ignore my maze in Facet Fort?

Moths and the Ward Moth fly straight from checkpoint to checkpoint along the dashed line, so rocks never slow them. Flying waves come every 4th wave, or every 3rd on Sky Lanes. Keep a gem that hits flyers, such as Quartz, Sapphire or Topaz, beside that line, or build the Gravity Well, which pulls a flyer down for 6 seconds.

Can a rock block the path completely in Facet Fort?

No. Before a rock lands, the game checks that every checkpoint can still be reached, and a rock that would close the path is refused with a red marker. The tile preview also shows how many tiles longer the path becomes, so you can compare spots before you commit.

What are sigils in Facet Fort and how are they different from specials?

A sigil is made from a Rough gem and a Chipped gem of another family drawn in the same round; a gem kept earlier does not count. Most sigils are support pieces: the Kindle Sigil adds 20% damage and the Quicken Sigil 20% attack speed to towers within 2 tiles. Two matching sigils on the board merge into a twin sigil such as the Forge Heart, worth +30% to both.

How does Survival mode end in Facet Fort?

Survival on the 21×21 Endless Vault has no last wave: it ends when your 10 lives run out or a boss reaches the fort. Enemy health keeps rising, a boss arrives every 25 waves, and from wave 100 each leak costs 2 lives, 3 from wave 150. Your score is 100 points per wave cleared plus 500 per boss, minus 10 per leak.

What does Luck change in Facet Fort?

Luck sets the chance of each gem tier. At level 0 rocks are 72% Chipped and 28% Rough; at the top level, 8, they are 35% Clear, 35% Brilliant and 20% Royal. The 8 upgrades cost from 20 to 370 gold, and a Lucky charm makes your next rock at least Clear.

How do I beat the Splitter boss in Facet Fort?

The Splitter on wave 10 breaks into 4 shards when it falls, and every shard must be stopped: if one reaches the fort the run ends. Keep splash or chain towers near the end of the path, such as Ruby, Magma Heart or Storm Eye, so the shards are caught together.
